Morts Despite my utter hatred of traditional Christmas carols and the puke-inducing schmaltz they represent I do appreciate humour-drenched Christmas metal and this album hits the mark in every way! In mid October of 2010 I started recording what would become "Carl the Christmas Squirrel." It was a quirky idea but I was determined to complete the album even though I would be exposing a part of myself that most people weren't aware of.

I really just wanted to make the most menacing sounding Christmas album and combine it with a ridiculous concept that I always wish existed.

To bring the concept to life I recruited one of my best friends, Ben Myers. Ben has an incredible story telling gift and has a brilliant creative mind. When we recorded his narration parts he improvised the story as he told it and was able to complete each vocal track usually in one take. It was pure off the cuff Ben brilliance that I wish more people could hear, and we recorded it.

This project consumed a little over a month of my life. The drum and effects programming was ridiculous and some songs contained close to 50 tracks. Needless to say, I quickly learned to find my way around Logic. Every waking hour was spent putting this album together from mid October to when I released it around Thanksgiving. I printed 150 copies and gave them away as presents to friends and families.
